Greetings, Graduates: Your Schurzone this year depicts the line relations that exist be- tween Schurz and our community. It is most titting for your book to do so, for one of the most valuable assets that one may possess is that of really being a part of his community. A person does not become part of a community merely by living in it. He becomes a part of the community when he gives of himself and his abilities to the service of his fellows. That is the type of life that you have learned to live at Schurz. To be certain. scholastic attainment has been ever before you as a goal. But emphasis has also been placed upon your cooperation with other students.-on being of service to others. Your career at Schurz is filled with instances of your care and assistance for others. The habits you have formed while attending high school will remain with you and help you to become outstanding citi- zens of your new communities. The faculty join me in wishing you well, and in looking forward to hearing about your future success. Sincerely yours, pogerf oliagemaclerf, ,L7l'iIlCi,JLlf I-'
