Class Prophecy The year, 1977, the day May 10. The Senior Class of 1967's reunion. The place, the remodeled Cairo High School Gym, which now hosts the State Indoor Football Playoffs. The time, is now 1 a. m. and I find the reunion is just getting into full swing. 1 have just made my rounds greeting classmates, and rumbling over the events of the last ten years. All were present except for Jack Vierk, who migrated to the hills nine summers ago after receiving a letdown, his drivers license expired. Here is what the remaining of my classmates accomplishments, in brief, are, up to this time: Dale Brehm. is now official connoisseur of the American Tobacco Company in Phila- delphia. Edward Wicht. has been starring with the Harlem Globetrotters. I understand he re- ceived a silver plated water bucket for ten years of faithful service. Kathie Helzer. received her wings to fly and is busy pursuing her husband across the blue yonder. Gene Baasch. now drives in the demolation derby, testing the strength of new bridge railings against old chev's. Cheryl Neville, now a student nurse at Kearney State College. She specializes in removing boys rings from girls fingers. Linda Reinhardt, ended up marrying Bryan Stubbs. • Right now she is chopping stubbs out of the garden. Jo Ann Cranford and Kaylene Hanousek. are now bookkeepers in the Vice-Presidents office in Washington D. C. Galen Troyer, now runs a computer that pairs men and women. He's been unable to find one for himself as of yet. Class Prophecy, Con't. Candace Beckler is now a beautician, specializing in straightening hair. We hear she's having problems with Phillis Diller's! Teri Caswell is now coach of the new Loup Valley High School Volleyball team. They say they're going to the Olympics next year. Jerry Reinhardt and his wife Velda, are the new proprietor's of the Boelus Brewery. Rick and Pam Leth run the local electronics store and specialize in RCA tv’s. Wanda Schweitzer is now a nurse at the Lutheran Hospital. She just received a raise for inventing a new labor-saving device. And myself, Gary Powers, have just been appointed the town cop. By the way, I picked up a couple of kids last night for swiping apples! Class .History: The year - Fall of 1963 The Assignment - Mission Impossible The goal - to gain a High School Education. Our group began training under the direction of Chief Espionage Agent, Mrs. Hayes and her assistants were: Captain, Teri Caswell, Sergeant, Ed Rawlings, until he defected from the group, then Gary Powers was promoted to the position, Corporal, Kathie Hel- zer. Private, Kenny Schwartz, and Correspondent, Jerry Reinhardt. We also had a recruit come in to fill the vacancy left by Ed Rawlings--Galen Troyer. After completing our first year of training we lost the following to other branches of service: Penny Gakin, Sally Hinkson, and Reva Sutliff. There were no new recruits to join us. Chief Espionage Agent was Mr. Fielder, and his assistants were Captain, Kathie Helzer, Sergeant, Linda Reinhardt,_ Corporal, Wanda Schweitzer, Private, Marilyn Stutzman, and Correspondent, Gary Powers. Again we lost members after a tough year of training. Those we lost were, Marilyn Stutzman, and Louise Reed. Just before we set out for our third year we gained Roger Benson, who just gave us a few tips and moved on right away. Chief Espionage was Mr. Caveness and his assistants were, Captain, Rick Leth, Sergeant, Linda Reinhardt, Corporal, Wanda Schweitzer, Private, Gene Baasch, and Correspondent, Jo Ann Cranford. We presented a court case entitled The Whole Truth to prove our many talents to the natives. We also prepared a banquet and prom for the graduating officers. The theme called In the Misty Moonlight. At the close of the third year we lost Kenny Schwartz and gained Cheryl Neville in a trade with enemy camps. Our Chief Espionage Agent was Mrs. Stevens, and her assist- ants were. Captain Galen Troyer, Sergeant, Jerry Reinhardt, Corporal, Kathie Helzer, and Private, Rick Leth. Again we presented a court case to prove we had discovered, Great Caesar's Ghost. Because of our many successes the underclassmen honored us with a banquet and prom to the theme called Bayou Castine. Our group of 16 has now completed a training mission on one level and must now decide where to continue their education or where to use what we have gained on this level. We now look to the future and whatever it might hold for our knowledge-seeking agents. Wanted dor graduation 1967 Wander Nalen Mut Pickle Moke ’’Puss Jake Lin Brehm Cat” T.C.
