Class Prophecy All aboard as we climb upon our 1966 atomic powered magic carpel, the Furetta. We are in hopes we will see all the seniors of 1956. As we take off the Armstrong landing field: Our first stop is near Miles City, Montana. Here we see a large dude ranch. Since it was such a beautiful place we decided to spend the day there. Entering the huge glass door, who should we meet but Leonard Spiehs, the multi-millionaire owner. He told us, while rolling a cigar around in his mouth, business was fine. As we journey on our way, the next stop is Las Vegas, Nevada. We had heard that one of our former classmates ran the Flamingo Hotel. W hy who is this class- mate? Why none other than Tom Hulme. Taking flight again, we hit a hot air pocket, which forced us to land. Landing on the desolate part of the desert, called Death Valley. We found a small farm. Here in this 117 weather, we see a man and woman hoeing peanuts. We walked up to them wishing to know who this daring couple was . We were surprised to see that it was Larry Spiehs and his brave wife, Trust Larry to do the impossible. Traveling on, we stop along the coast of California at the San Diego Naval Base. Here we see two of our former classmates, Duane Rogers and Don W addington on the way to the navy doctor. It seems they just got back from a twenty mile cruise out to sea, and have a “slight case of sea sickness. Leaving California we journey on. Looking through the clouds we see a huge Indian Reservation. Deciding to stop for a while, we find we are in New Mexico. Here we are glad to renew acquaintance with our old classmate, Eleanora Swanson, who is teaching handwork to the Indians. She inquired about people in Cairo, and said her husband, Daryl Beilke, is working in the silver mines. Off again, now flying over the big state of Texas. Here we see a large sheep ranch. We were getting hungry, just then we saw a fluorescent sign below us flashing on and off DALES LAMBCHOPS' . This sounded very tasty so we decided to stop for a minute or two. Who should we find running the joint? Why a former classmate, Dale Hinkson. While cruising over Birmingham, Alabama, the song, “Mr. Sandman , struck our ears. Something strangely familiar about the music gave us a homesick feeling and urge to descend and see where it was coming from. Looking around we saw a brightly lighted building with a sign on which read, “Mademoiselle Patrice’s Dancing School '. Of course, you know- that Mademoiselle Patrice is the former Pat Hendrickson. How lucky we were to have stopped there on the night she was giving a party for all her former dancing pupils, of course the music was furnish- ed by her husband's famous dance band, “Bob and His Birmingham Bobcats '. 25
