As juniors, with Miss Johnson now as our pilot three more passengers decided to board board our airliner. They were Marilyn Wheeler, Thelma Hahs and Virgie Wooden. On our flight we decided to stop off on a cloud and give a little entertainment. W’e chose the play, “Me and My Shadow . From there we flew to Paris where we gave a banquet in honor of the seniors, which was a big success. This year we had as our captain, Tom Hulme. His assistants were Don Hargens-Vice-President; Arlene Southard-Secretary; Pat Hendrickson- Treasurer; and Jackie Steinke-News Re- porter. Now as seniors, with Mr. Nelson and Mr. Colman as co-pilots, we are planning our future destinations when this flight of knowledge is over. We lost one member, Jerome Grudzinski, who parachuted out be- fore the year started. Our captain was: Arlene Southard with Joyce Perkins-Vice- President; Don Hargens-Secretary ; Marilyn Wheeler-Treasurer; and Thelma Hahs-News Reporter, as her assistants. On October 18, we stopped at Grand Island to get our pictures taken. We also edited the school annual. In the spring we put on our play entitled, Lunatics At Large' , which was a huge success and the Juniors gave a banquet in our honor. The high-lights of the year were Commencement and Baccalaureate, thus ending our four year flight of knowledge. But our story has not ended it has just begun. Class History In the fall of 1952 a crew of fourteen ' strong, brave boys and seven shy but ea- ger girls marched up the ramp into the good skyliner, “Knowledge”. The crew members were: Arlene Southard, Eleanora Swanson, Dera Lea Stutzman, Jackie Steinke, Joyce Perkins, Leona Woitaszewski, Pat Hendrickson, Tom Hulme, LeRoy Heupel, Gerald Spiehs, Larry Spiehs, Leonard Spiehs, Duane Rogers, Bob Irwin, Bob McDermott, Don Waddington, Larry Stutzman, Dale Hinkson, Don Stange, Don Hargens, and Edwin Schuett. We elected as our captain, President-Edwin Schuett. His able assistants were: Bob McDermott-Vice-President; Arlene Southard-Secretary, Don Hargens-Trea- surer, and Eleanora Swanson-News- Reporter. Our pilot for this year was Mr. Wallace Rose. In the middle of the first year Bob McDermott transferred to another air- liner and Darrel Collins walked up the ramp to join our crew. In our sophomore year, with Mr. Anton Lowry as our pilot, Larry Stutzman left and answered the call to adventure. Bob Irwin, Darrel Collins, and Edwin Schuett became airsick and transferred to different airliners. We also gained another airman, Jerome Grudzinski. We now had eleven crew members with our Captain and President - Jackie Steinke; Pat Hendrickson-Secretary, Joyce Perkins-Treasurer and Don Waddington- News Reporter.
