Class History In the fall of 1952 a crew of fourteen ' strong, brave boys and seven shy but ea- ger girls marched up the ramp into the good skyliner, “Knowledge”. Perhaps their footsteps were a little slow as they thought of the past eight years but they were also thinking of the four years ahead of them. The crew members were: Arlene Southard, Eleanora Swanson, Dera Lea Stutzman, Jackie Steinke, Joyce Perkins, Leona Woitaszewski, Pat Hendrickson, Tom Hulme, LeRoy Heupel, Gerald Spiehs, Larry Spiehs, Leonard Spiehs, Duane Rogers, Bob Irwin, Bob McDermott, Don Waddington, Larry Stutzman, Dale Hinkson, Don Stange, Don Hargens, and Edwin Schuett. We elected as our captain, President-Edwin Schuett. His able assistants were: Bob McDermott-Vice-President; Arlene Southard-Secretary, Don Hargens-Trea- surer, and Eleanora Swanson-News- Reporter. Our pilot for this year was Mr. Wallace Rose. In the middle of the first year Bob McDermott transferred to another air- liner and Darrel Collins walked up the ramp to join our crew. In our sophomore year, with Mr. Anton Lowry as our pilot, Larry Stutzman left and answered the call to adventure. Bob Irwin, Darrel Collins, and Edwin Schuett became airsick and transferred to different airliners. We also gained another airman, Jerome Grudzinski. We now had eleven crew members with our Captain and President - Jackie Steinke; Pat Hendrickson-Secretary, Joyce Perkins-Treasurer and Don Waddington- News Reporter.
