Let Us Admit It Let us admit it fairly as high school Seniors should: We've had no end of lessons, and they’ve done us no end of good. We entered as timid Freshmen, we leave as graduates bold. And we find it hard to realize the know-ledge our young heads hold. We’ve had our foolish notions knocked higher than Franklin’s kite; Our minds have been made over, and we know it served us right. We’ve spent four years in labor hard to prove the fact once more That life is quite confused, and two and two are seldom four. We’re crammed to the brim with learning, and now w e must turn it to use. And if one of us is a failure, he hasn’t a single excuse. The more we work and the less we talk the better results we shall get. For we’ve had four years of training; it may make us successes yet. As they studied through the years of pain. This ole school once rang with laughter, This ole school heard many shouts. Now she trembles in the darkness, As the Seniors all walk out. Ain’t a gonna need this school no longer, Ain’t a gonna need this school no more. Ain’t got time to study our History, Ain’t got time to sweep the floor And make Mister Nelson mad. Ain’t a gonna need this school no longer, We’re gettin ready to meet the world. This ole school is gettin weary, This ole school is a gettin old. These old Seniors are too brilliant, These old Seniors are too old. Oh our knees are gettin’ shaky, But we feel no fear nor pain, Cause we see our diplomas peekin’ Through a teacher’s mean, cruel hand.
