C Fx fRWfQX'7Cj'E D F Cl O TF B Il L IJ R EI V ll E VV in September 7, 1956 thirty-seven eager and willing candidates reported to Head Coach Kingsmore and his assistant Coach Wentling for the first practise of the season. Most of the extra pep and energy was worked out of the squad during the first week of practice, which was devoted to limbering up exercises and signal dril1s.Tho next ten days found the squad having nfunuin a big way, The boys worked hard and soon were blocking and tacklinglin hidseasen form. The nucleus of the team was composed of several returning letter men, who were ably assisted by other players of some experience. The season as a whole was fairly successful. ' The local gridders played two new teams this season,Ada and Gibsonburg, defeating both. The game with Gibsonburg was played at night under lights only the second game Carey has ever played under artificial lighting. The first time was at Bucyrus three years ago. The team loses five Seniors all of whom are lettermen. They are Kitzler Smiley, Black, Twining, and Brown. Although many of the reserves did not see much action, they deserve much credit for their faithful attendance at the practices and for their fine spirit of cooperation with their team ates and coaches.
