The first class meeting was held in Room 16 under their Junior Cliss ndvisor,Hr. Kingsmore. They proved themselves a democratic nat- ion by electing there class off- icers by secret ballot. Edgar Kel- ler was elected Presidentg Knrtha Snoborger,Vice-President, and David Dible, Secretary-Treasurer. This triumvirate carried out the govern- ing of the Junior Nation with great skill. Janes Ward was elected te the Student Council, a body repre- senting the four nations of the Ccnfedcrocy. I This nation has made e name for itself, especially in athletics. Edgor Xeller,Jares Harris and Will- iam Snackey answered Hthe call of the gridironn. Jim Harris and Ezz Keller made the Varsity Basketball Squad. Genevieve Dow,Kartha Snobar- ger,Hargaret Brinkman,Persis Pierce end Mary Jane Needs represented us in girl's Basketball, while Cath- erine Pahl and Mary Jane Needs, our Cheer Leaders, lcd the teams on to victory more.than ence. A number of the nerbers of the class contributed their rms tsl ability to the various musical cf- ganizaticns, the Band,Orchfstra 'nd Glee Club. The Juniors also showed fine cooperation in raising money for the Junior-Senior Banquet. lortha Snobarger was elected to take cnorge of the candy sales and she proved herself equal to the responsibility of the task. Our closs treasury in- creased by leaps and bounds during the Sectional Basketball Tournament held here the first week in Merch. The whole class assisted in the work. As the time drew near for the Junior-Senior Banquet various com- mittees were anpointed ard plans laid in the anticipation of raking the banquet a success. The third year as high school students is rapidly drawing to a close and we are locking forvnrd to our final year when we hope to do more for the benefit of Carey High. -Louise Ruffing THE JOLLY JUNIORS The Juniors are so bright and gay, 'J They grow more jelly day by dayg As on their way they gayly go, They make good friends by being so. At their books they strive and work, From herd tasks they never shirkg They try to do all that is asked, Great or small, what e'er the task. Up the ladder step, by step, With their courage, vim, and pepg We know that they will soon arrive, As they gzyly work and strive. -Mary Braun iii. .fy .1 -1 v -----. - --- --.JL:L:LJL:L:L:':LJLJLJL L:L:L: :L LJL: 'L :Ly ' ....,.1.....1....... .......r......,.-2......5n6.,..-' .. ,.,.
