DEDICATION Between 12 and 13 hundred people thronged to the Auditorium on the evening of March 27 when the Parent-Teacher Association presented the pageant, The Land of the Wyandotsf' The pageant was the climax of the day's activities which served to dedicate the new seventeen-room elementary school building which has been appropriately named for Colonel William Crawford, the Revolutionary hero, who was burned at the stake by the Delaware Indians in 1783 four miles southeast of Carey. The pageant was written by Miss Millicent Warren of the local High School faculty especially for the dedicatory services. The greater part of the material utilized by Miss Warren was secured locally from records and heirlooms in possession of people of the Carey community. Too much praise cannot be given the author for her skillful and pro- fessional treatment of one of the most dramatic themes in American frontier history. :gay ff? 1 5 N ei in - , Y Q 14.1 ' , ' f A f-'-'- x- Q4 Km , X -1. ..? 1- - 4 5 +XT ,...T..- i -.
