For the first time freshmen built a homecoming float. Although it was not judged, it was considered success- ful. They received high honors in class functions, taking second place for their Color Day hall and getting 10096 in the Bahamas Raffle. The class was rewarded with a free day for hitting 10096 in the Patron Drive. Two bagel sales brought in about 8100, and the merchandise booth they ran at the festival did very Well. But what was most significant was the tot- al class effort. There were many times throughout the year when the class had to put in a little extra effort to reach a goal, according to Miss Mona Leos, and they were Willing to put the time in to do so.
