QB Bob Gunner hands off to HB Larry Duwve. Gunner races back for a pass attevvlmb Ibotball The 1968 season was a series of ups and downs from the very beginning. There were elating victories, such as the Homecom- ing game, when the gridders strangled a strong Wauseon team 34-14, and painful defeats, as at the hands of the Waite Indians, 24-0. The traditional battle with Clay for the Bird Cage resulted in a 0-0 tie, allowing the Cards to retain the trophy and the title of Oregon City Champs for the third year. The final tally for the year was 3-5-1. At the annual football ban- quet, Larry Duvvve took honors as Most Valuable Player and Most Valuable Back. Robert Vin- cent was named Most Valuable Lineman and the Football Schol- ar award Went to Ed Walker.
