Conclusion This is that year- 1969. For some a year to forget. For others, a truly memorable year. But regardless of your opinion of 1969, one fact re- mains-1969 was and is history. 1969 was historic for Cardinal Stritch also. It was the year of Sights and Sounds, Existence '69. This book is the' product of many hours of long, tedious work by the best staff an editor could ask for. My gratitude and sincerest thanks go: . . . to Sharon Wallake, whose able manage- ment and gentle prodding kept us going through good times and through bad. . . . to Karen Kistner, whose dedicated work did not stop at school, but continued on into the night at her home, making spotless page layouts. . . . to Christine Simko, whose beautiful prose, in the same class as Hemingway, Shaw, and Maugham, graces our pages, and whose hard work inspired us all. . . . to Bart Susor, the backbone and dynamic force behind the staff, who, labored mightily on class pictures. . . . to Ioe Abraham, whose talent, imagina- tion, and long hours in the darkroom, helped pro- duce the photographs that illustrate this book. . . . to Julie Szabo, whose steady persever- ance, and impeccably typed copy sheets, pulled us all through. . . . to Pat Flanagan and his intrepid busi- ness staff, without whose help the book would not have been produced. . . . and finally, to the man who made it all happen, Mr. Iames Kwiatkowski, our beloved ad- V1SOl'. I would also like tot extend my thanks for many, many favors to the following very special people: My Mom and Dad Msgr. Michael I.
