The year was a year of protest, and you were protesting. You started to realize that, there were a lot of things you didn,t like, and you decided not to put up with them any longer. You protested. It might not have been you, at the demon- strations, but it was your spirit. It was yours because you felt that something had to be done, you were the one to do it. There may have been a lot of people com- plaining about you, but you were doing more than they were. Even if nothing came of the marches, you showed everyone that you were interested enough to try. Civil rights was the most talked about and frightfully so. It was your generation that became unpreiudiced. You were awakened to the fact that no person was any better than another, regardless of race or creed. You didn,t believe in segregation.
