Your wrestling team was a wow! You knew you were winners and you supported your team more than any other school in the area. You came to the meets and filled the stands. And, even though you had to make up most of the yells, you cheered. It took some of you, especially you from the west wing, a while to catch on to such terms as take- clownf' sit-out, and escape, but once you did nothing stopped you from completely enjoying the sport. You gave up the long- awaited weekends on the town. These were far from easy tempta- tions to overcome. But, you did all these things just so you could get out on the mats for six minutes and wrestle. Iust so you could have your chance at a victory. Many times you pinned, many times you decisioned. Still, there were many times you lost and it seemed the sacrifices were all for nothing. But there was always next week and you kept right on trying. And you tried again and again until you did win. And you kept right on winning until you ended up with a victorious season on the mats. You, the grapplers, had done it. You had shown every- one, including your- selves, that Stritch wasn't just the school out on Pickle Road. You had shown them that Stritch was a winner. You had shown them that they had better watch out be- cause you had something and you knew you had it - a wrestling team - one of the best.
