For you the player, the football season was long and hard. Many hours of practice and many injuries were survived for what sometimes turned out to be defeat instead of glorious victory. But you had the guts to forget these and come back with plenty of action on the grid-iron to accumulate your share of victory. You the coaches were looked up to and criticized by many before your day came to an end. Your fob was to keep your team in shape and to give them that extra push when morale was low. You made both friends and enemies - how many because of a cherished whistle- drillP - but you usually came out on top as soon as the season was over.
