THE FIFTIES F D Ritter students and faculty threw themselves ifties Week last spring. The week's activities in- luded the history of the 'I95O's, a skit, malt mes- into age day, dress-up day, and a dance. Before the ock hop, Mr. Hagist, Mrs. Minton, and Mr. Queis- er taught students the jitterbug, the freddy, the lide, and the stroll. To top off the week, a Greas- er and Greaserette were chosen at the dance. hey were Dan Carrler and Becky Hoff' Donna Vollmer, Meg Polak, Cheryl Harper, loe Murphy, Lisa Baker, and Vince Rak agree that algebra is difficult regardless in which decade it is taught. This group of cool cats smile as the subject of groovy chicks is brought up. '09

FIELD DAY ,. 'V' ...4 gg ,,,, ,, . t .,,,,,,,!w 'D- '-'lic 'V'- A -.L .-41 .. . - At Ritter's tenth anniversary party Mr. Velikan cuts the first piece of cake as faculty and students gather around. WBT. Ritter held its first field day May 17. The event, sponsored by S.E.B., was under the leadership of Greg Kashman and Zora Iva- noff. Heavy rains and strong winds forced the activity to become a two day event. Yet the threatening weather did not place a damper upon the spirit of the participants. Does Chuck Schwanekamp have Vince Rak all tied up in knots? No, it's just a part of the action as the water balloon relay goes on. l Pull, pull harder! cries Mr. Lentz as Mr. Carrico, lom Vonder- saar, Dick Seyfried, and Phil Seyfried test their strength in a tug of The seniors and sophomores were co-champions in a wide variety of events, including an egg toss, tug-of-war, chicken fight, water bucket relay, and wa- termelon eating con- test. The day's activi- ties centered around the theme, Happy Birthday, Ritter! and began with the cut- ting of the gigantic anniversary cake with foot long candles. 1,--0 i Q' A 4 1 Ready, set . . . IUMP! Superfrog, alias Tim Beringer, takes a flying leap as lim Chuck Schwanekamp, Ritter's human wheelbarrow, is propelled White and Mary Mattingly prepare to hop during the leap frog contest. by jeff Noel.
