-nnn!l'W ' 2 LJ, Oh say can you see . . . Sunshine and bare feet bring around another sum- mer session for the band members and majorettes. Hours of marching on the hot pavement are put in by all members to prepare them for the upcoming school year. Many attend four day band camp sessions. Practice and performance, in that order, contribute to successful half-time shows. Selling cokes at Ra- ceway Park and fruitcakes during Christmas holidays are the money-making projects throughout the year. Individuals and groups prepare themselves for com- petition. The following performers received divisional ratings at Indiana Central, making them eligible for the state instrumental and choral contest: Phil Kern, re- ceived three medals forthe drums and marimba. Greg Roebuck, piano, and Debbie Wylde, flute. Sheryl loy- ner, Terry Doyle, Kathy Barnes, Susie Patterson, Dan Carrier, and Becky Hoff received awards for their solos. Ritter's talented Girls' Sextet also received awards. The state competition brought many more winners. Debbie Wylde, Greg Roebuck, Phil Kern, Lisa Baker, Susie Patterson, Sheryl Joyner, Becky Hoff, Helen Cross, and jackie Richey all took ratings. Are the tin soldiers real? . ..
