Study Areas Span Varied Student Needs Two phases of independent study intro- duced this year were the Learning Center, a place for individual tutoring; and the honor pass system which allowed students to leave Ritter during free modules to visit local public libraries. The Learning Center, the Resource Center, the library, and the cafeteria are areas for varied activities, whether independent study periods are spent researching projects, talking assign- ments over with classmates, adding dimen- sions to learning with audio-visual equip- ment, or merely relaxing. Having to smooth out the first year wrinkles in the Learning Center didn ' t prevent Mrs. Jeanette Fricke, moderator, from giving individual attention to students such as Joyce Owens. Art work done by Ritfer students and those of Manual High added color to the walls of the Learning Center.
