Newman Kids Down And Be there or be round the second annual Newman Punk dance, was the biggest non-formal dance ever, held at Newman. After the three hours of danc- ing over 600 students had punked out to the sounds of Devo the B-52 ' s, the Knack, and Adam and the ants. With Ke- vin Clark as the D.J. things got off to a roaring start with the taped sound of a DC-10 off from P.B.I.A. Heat was a ma- jor factor in the tiring of the students, after 1 hour into the dance the tempera- , ture hit 95 degrees. So indeed it was the hottest dance in Newman ' s history.
