They had a good season but with eight freshmen and soph- omores on the varsity team, they were . . . Shooting for the future For the Varsity Girls Basketball team the 1980-81 season proved to be a year of rebuilding. With four upperclassmen the teann employed eight freshmen and sophomores. To the fans in the stand the first month of the season seemed to be one of discord for the team. Captain Dorothy Panton, senior, attributed the problem to the fact that the team was young and it took time to adjust to one another. The team pulled together after Christmas and their true ability was proved as they fought to the end whether they were winning or losing. The junior varsity team played a very competitive season finishing with a record of 8 wins and 5 losses. The team ignored its youngness and finished the season with an overall record of 8 wins and 9 losses. Dorothy commented, the season had its ups and downs but in the end we realized the meaning of teamwork and pulled together to make it a successful year.
