Homecoming halls filled with transvestites, busty male nurses, raquetball players, arabs, punk rockers and greasers. In the early part of the week, the entire school had the opportunity to purchase girl or boy slaves during their lunch period. Prices ranged from one dollar to nineteen dollars for some of the very valuable specimens. Some slave duties includ- ed dressing in often gaudy outfits, such as pink leotards and six-inch heels for Pat Sweeney or scuba gear for Joe Coates. During the pep rally several senior boys appeared to have a case of mistaken identity as they appeared in front of their classmates dressed as cheerleaders and performed an original musical routine (Vromm- vroom). The faculty voted and the junior class won the pep rally. As always, every class thought that they deserved to win, as sophomore Lisa Neyland stated, I felt that the sophomores should have won; I don ' t think that it was fair that we did not, just because of our sign, which read, ' Love is great. Sex is free, and we ' re the class of ' 83. ' As alway, in order to get anything accomplished, much hard work and time was allotted. Because float parties were common, there was a great deal of last minute rushing to get everything put together in time. What did the juniors think about winning the overall homecoming competition? It ' s not that this homecoming week differed from the past two years, but the junior class spirit along with the variety of activities made it more enjoyable and memorable, stated Mimi Bransfield.
