With grueling hours of behind them, students I the bright lights, noisy id smell of popcorn at the btudents took advantage of reduced prices at Midnight Madness when friends enjoyed the thrill of the Midway rides, tried their hand at winning stuffed animals, listened to Country and Western music, and ate everything from Austrian strudel to barbequed ribs. It was just another way to celebrate and have a good time. Senior Carolyn Petersen proudly shows thp rihhons she won at the South orse Show.

Homecoming A week of organized chaos Homecoming: a time when studies took a back seat to craziness and good times. Throughout the entire week seniors woke up to the prospect of piecing together yet another non-uniform outfit. Under- classmen, however, had an easier time as they came out of uniform only twice. On hat day seniors wore hats ranging from enormous sombreroes to plants to Budweiser cartons. The winners of the most outrageous hats had the privilege of marching, in the parade on Friday. The parade of five floats from each class and the Junior Classical League Club, homecoming court, the football team and hat competition winners was followed by a carnival with booths, refreshments, and a welcomed 1:00 dismissal. The theme for homecoming was The Movies, and the seniors, on their day, dressed according- ly.
