Students Immediately recognized the soft southern accent of English teacher Mrs. Martha McKinnon. The North Carolina native plays tennis, swims and cooks in her leisure time. For Sister Ann Marie Meagher, English teacher, a quiet place out- doors where she can read is her favorite way to relax. Tather Hank Lemoncelli, religion teacher, spent tliree years in Rome wliere lie attended college. Fluent in Spanisli, Frencli and Italian, Father uses his foreign language skills to work with the Spanish community in Miramar. The senior class moderator said he enjoys the unpredictability of each day the most about teaching. Mr. Gary Luikart, a history teacher without a homeroom, could be seen hurrying from class to class with his briefcase. Ohe was the lady with the Scarlet A emblazoned on her chest one day and pure white lace the next. Mrs. Nancy Mims, English teacher, became the characters she taught in her American Literature classes. Mrs. Mary Mook ' s classes were noted for the deep conversations that occurred. It was this aspect of teaching that the religion teacher said she enjoyed most. Mrs. Mook left Newman during the Christmas break to prepare for the birth of her first child. For French teacher Mrs. Estelle Morrison teaching wasn ' t a job this year, it was a hobby. As a part-time teacher, she took her classes to French restaurants and on field trips in addition to teaching them to say more than parlez-vous francais. Sister Noel Kelley, also a part time teacher, taught Spanish. She has her M.A. from the University of Santa Domingo. Miss Karen Noziglia left her previous job of IRS tax collector to teach economics. She ' s a N.Y. Yankee fan and enjoys collecting stuffed koala bears, statues of koala bears and pictures of koala bears. 186 ACADEtyilCS
