Highlights 0 Homecoming Alice Tooley was crowned homecoming queen at the annual bonfire held Dctober 31. The royalty is pictured here as they were presented on the float at halftime. Hard-Luck Cagerettes Members of the girls' varsity basketball squad are, FRONT ROW: manager, Jane Vass, Kaye Eddy, Carol Payne, Linda Harmon, Janice Adam, Vera McCormick, Barb Fligg, Carolyn Winston, and Susan Although the girls' basketball team won only one game out of l7 starts, they dropped several games that could have gone either way. The one victory was the first game of the season against Waco. The second Pekin game, and Central games were almost won by determination. Against Central, the Comettes were nearly victorious. Central won the game in the last ten seconds when one of their forwards made a long shot. With only two seconds remaining to be played, the Comettes Harmon. BACK ROW: coach, Harold Sharp, Judy Daugherty, Carla Zuehlke, Fran Johnson, Rita Wilkinson, Arlene Snook, Judy Welsh, and Linda Hancock. failed to score, and Central was victorious by one point. The non-experienced team had only one returning regular, Carolyn Winston, and two other letter-winners, Carla Zuehlke and Fran Johnson. This year's letter winners are Carolyn Winston, Carla Zuehlke, Vera McCormick, Linda Harmon, Susan Harmon, Fran Johnson, Judy Welsh, Carol Payne, Rita Wilkinson, Arlene Snook, Barbara Fligg, Judy Daugherty, Janice Adam, and Linda Hancock.
