The Business Club, moderated by Brother Bertrand, ' has a two-fold purpose, assisting the departments of the S e n I O P M G t h school which need its facilities and training members in the use of various business machines. Among other things the club makes surveys for the Guidance Department G n d and types reports and other data for the Athletic Depart- ment. Open only to seniors who T have a business subject, the club has weekly meetings on Monday. With Brother Kieran as moderator, the club offers numerous opportunities to its members to acquire new skills and techniques in photographic Work. Most of their labors center around the photographing of Hayes' athletic and recrea- tional activities. A fully-equipped dark room is at the disposal of those boys who specialize in developing photos. Both the 'iCalendar and the Challenger staffs use the facilities of the Camera Club for their pictorial edorts. Historq Club cmd Poster Club Under the able direction of Father Totten, the Poster Club has again carried out the tedious job of advertis- ing. All important extra curricular activities are brought to the attention of Hayesmen through the work of his devoted, loyal and trusty group. The History Club, under the direc- tion of Father Feeney, is one of the newer additions to the extracurricular activities in Hayes. At present, the membership of the club is restricted to only sophomores interested in the fields related to history. Its chief pur- pose is to increase interest in the study of history and to visit places of his- toric, cultural and social interest, such as the city museums and the United Nations. Thus far, the high point of the club has been a trip to the United Nations to view the General Assembly in ac- tion. At present, plans are being made for future trips. The most important trip the club is planning is a visit to 3 VVashington, D.C. during the summer.
