Some of our Latin students are interested in learning more of ancient culture and customs than the classroom study of the subject permits. For them the Classical Club, moderated by Father McCaffrey, is an important activity. The knowledge they accumulated will be of cultural and practical benefit to them in the future.

Popularly called the Radio Club, the Cardinal Hayes Amateur Operators' Society is open to all students who are interested in radio. However, they must be recommended by their science teachers. Under the supervision of Brother Lucas, head of the Physics department, the members strive to obtain an operator's license. Their interest is keen and Brother Lucas, fanning it with his helpful guidance, teaches them a great deal. Membership in the Honor Club is obtained by attaining a W rating of ninety percent in all subjects, permanent member- - ship requires a student to get this rating tive times in one year. Father Kenrick, the moderator, encourages the senior mem- bers to try for scholarships and Hayes every year wins a good 113 number of them.
