Forensic League. On February 22nd Hayes was host to twenty-one Catholic ff' 1- high schools in an Interscholastic Debate Tournament sponsored by the f -gl League. Under the able direction of Father Grace, their moderator, Hayes men participated in various debates, panel discussions and forums through- f out the year. Arthur Leone distinguished himself by taking second-place ora- 'sl torical honors in a group representing seventeen high schools competing at WAX, Mt. St. Michael. ' Vi Hayes speakers were also heard at various civic functions. ln city-wide 1 xg competition Arthur Leone was awarded the coveted chairmanship of the f Annual Daily Mirror Forum in December. Edward Menninger and George . K gb Church represented Hayes in respective New York Times Youth Broadcasts. A i With Charles McCready and Philip Briska, other capable speakers for Hayes, W they also attended broadcasts of the Foreign Policy Association at lnter- national House.
