ILL the Stadiuml was the cry we heard at the first football rally and it became the battle-cry of the season. Although we never actually filled average weekly crowd of l0,000 persons. The acquisition of the Triboro Stadium for home games fired the spirit of Hayes men, and every Sunday saw them and their friends converging from all parts of the city and its suburbs to lend color, songs and cheers to the fanfare of a football fray. Winning the first four games buoyed up our hopes for an undefeated season, but the loss to Iona dashed our dreams. However, the final record of six wins and two losses reveals the superiority of this year's team over last' year's. Outstanding players on the team were Gene Moran and Matty Thomp- son who won places on the All-Metropolitan and All-City teams, and Bill Stet- ter who was placed on the latter mythical eleven. .the bowl-2l,OOO seats,-we broke all previous attendance records with an 1
