CHEERLEADERS ROBABLY the most dynamic group of the year was the cheerleaders. They were to be seen bouncing and yelling at every major sports event. Their antics and efforts added in no small measure to the success of our foot- ball and basketball teams. Under the direction of Father Lavin, their rhyme and rhythm set our hearts beating fast- er and lent volume to our cheers. Between goal-posts and under hoops they spurred our gallant teams on to victory. When the games were over, they took no bows but disappeared into the surging crowd which soon forgot those who had made the game more lively and spi- rited. For these unsung Hayes men of spirit we now give a rousing cheer of gratitude. l4l DANCE COMMITTEE HESE members of the Senior Class busily engaged them- selves in preparing the most popular social activities at Hayes-the dances. The best compliment and greatest favor that can be given to any l-layes admirer is an invite to one of these social functions. The reputation of being the best in high school circles is due in great part to the unselfish ef- forts of this committee, headed by Bernie Carolan of 4A. Great attention was given to creating the proper dance atmosphere through varied and intricate decorations. Congratulations to all, including Father Fitzge- rald, the moderator.
