We feel that it comprises a representation of the ideals and the standards of the Farly Cadet. Each element of the shield is symbolic in itself, and all are closely united with our motto, Viriliter Agen - Act Manfully. Those who instruct many unto justice shall shine like stars for all eternity. Dan. 12:3. These words express the meaning of the star. The Irish Christian Brothers spend their lives instructing youth, helping develop our intellects and Wills, thus bringing about a Christian sense of values. We, in turn, are able to go forth, and by our good example in Catholic Action instruct others unto Justice. This is an integral part of acting manfully. , The cross represents the sufferings and afiiictions that We may be called upon to face. A man will en- dure these things With love of God in his heart, and attain his eternal reward. The shamrock, with its three leaves, symbolizes the Trinity. Our beliefs as Catholics must be upheld With lifelong fortitude, imitative of Christ, the Son of Man. The discipline incorporated in our military sys- tem is exemplified by the sword. The impressions retained from this training will influence the deci- sions which will confront us, the men of the future. N 1 K. .. l .V J V V.
