BATISTA Mel entered the corps ot cadets in October ot l96O trom Habana, Cuba. Ever since his tirst day at the academy he has demonstrated his ability ot leadership, triendliness and good character. I'lis out- yfanding qualities have acquired tor him many triends in the corps. Athletically, Mel has played on the varsity soccer and track teams. I-Ie proved to be a great success in activities such as the yearbook, Legion ot Mary, art club and the M.P.'s. I-le has also been a member ot the various intramural teams, on which he has shown a cooperative spirit and usetul sense ot sportsmanship proving himself valuable to his team and school. Mel, during his short stay ot two years, has been a constant member ot the honor roll and holder ot the good conduct pin.
