The fall of i956 Student Council has well displayed its potentiality as an efficient group, working hard to represent every Capuchino citizen. Composed of rep- resentatives of organizations and the individual class- rooms, it has proven its ability to accomplish much. Among the counciI's many proiects and activities are: plans for a dance in March, an active participation in the inner school council, the revision of the consti- tution, and the sponsorship of booths at basketball games. Perhaps most important is the effort put forth by the council to get the entire student body to vote. As a result of this encouragement seventy per cent eligible voters turned out at the polls. This is the greatest percentage Cap has ever had. In follow- ing this democracy they have promoted many things such as the pitching machines for the boys' varsity baseball team. Many people have worked hard on the vari- ous committees to promote these ideas and it is to these people we owe our thanks, l club Our many clubs offer a large range of activities. Clubs give the student of today an opportunity to associate with students of similar interests, and broaden his ability and knowledge in the many fields of modern day activities. The student of today, ideally, should neither be a bookworm nor a social butterfly, but strike a happy medium, and develop what is known as a well balanced, integrated person- ality. Moreover, our clubs offer an outlet for students' creative abilities. Besides, active participation in the clubs of your choice is fun! This is the first historical play to be presented before a Capuchino audience. Robert Wasson, drama instructor, directed the entire schedule of rehearsals and gave the cast the spirit necessary for so challenging a production. Ruddigore, by Gilbert and Sullivan, was the annual operetto directed by Mr. Randolph Hunt. Nancy Milks played Rose Maybud, the sweet village maiden, and Eugene Winsatt played Robin Oakapple, who was really the bad Baronet of Rudigore. Carol Camicia portrayed Mad Margaret and Dick Pilazzi was Despard. The Mixed Chorus sang the parts of the bridesmaids, the village gentlemen and the ghosts. The operetto was brilliantly accompanied by our own Cap orchestra. Credit is due also to Mr. Stanley Grosse and the Stagecraft Club, whose settings were superb. io n of Iorralne Capuchino High School s standards are always high and nowhere is this more clearly reflected than in the selec- tion of Joan of Lorraine for its school play presented in December. This difficult and moving drama received an intelligent and sympathetic treatment from our drama de- partment under the expert guidance of Mr. Robert Wasson. Joan of Lorraine concerns a theatrical group who are rehearsing the story of Joan of Arc. lt is actually a play within a play. Sections of Joan s life her visions her trial and her death are depicted, Donna Reed as Joan gave one of the finest performances seen at Capuchino. Dan Bunker as the di'ector distinguished himself for his knowl- edgable interpretation. lt was indeed a memorable eve- ning in the theater. The Junior class, after a very busy year, has completed its project of bringing the foreign exchange students, Godilieve Vandersteen and Cyrus Danesh-Haeri, to Capuchino. The members of the class were very pleased to receive their class rings in time for the Junior Prom. The Prom was indeed a successful event in the lives of every Junior student. They used an oriental theme called Rickshaw Holiday. The success of this class is partly due through the wonderful work of their advisors: Mr. Ryan, Miss Welp, and Mr. Kennedy. -5 Jerry Acord Judy Alberl Bob Allen Jeanne Almquesl Claron Anderson Richard Anderson K' 3 Claude Anger Barbara Azzaro Myrna Bachman Bull Baker John Ballello Lg?- Phnlnp Angola Larry Arnaudo Ruchard Averen Fred Banchero James Banks Gayle Banla George Barcos Phrl Barry Rose Bauman Rosle Bacerra Judy Beckman T Anthony Beliramo Carolyn Benellr Maurnce Berube leula Bewley Davnd Blake Norma Blancarle Opal Blancarle 'S Ni v7 . xl Barbara Blevens Ed Blodgelt Bob Blum ' , m Q, v , , f V B if 4 'Q A H. , l. , 1 ' i . g4 1 l. gf' '-1: 1 .5 11::::: Y 5 ' , 'I -w f :'iLiaezaa2Eeeazaf.ie2 S A .
