Miss McCalla — A Valuable Asset Captain Shreve, a school known for its uniqueness, ha d one especially valuable asset, and that was our prin¬ cipal, Sandra McCalla. Miss McCalla was not your stereotypical principal. Instead, this small feminine woman displayed a special interest in the school and its students. Extremely loyal, Sandra McCalla was Shreve’s biggest booster this year. Attending an unusual number of school activities, she was able to keep in touch with current events going on with the students. In addition to her involvement in activities, Miss McCalla was active in the office when it came to relating to her staff. Great organization, self-discipline, and supportiveness of her staff were several traits that described the business side of McCalla, but she also truly cared for the individuals. This powerful woman not only handled the huge job of administering a school the size and excellent reputation that Shreve had, but proved that CS had the best of everything, including the principal. Assistant Principals Are An Awesome Twosome Captain Shreve was very fortunate this past year, in that we had two of the finest men serving as vice- principals. Tommy Powell and Donald Horton worked with the principal, the staff, and the students to make the best decisions for the student body. Mr. Powell was concerned with the academics of the school, while Mr. Horton maintained the discipline. Mr. Horton and Mr. Powell were surely two assistants Captain Shreve would not want to be without. ABOVE: Mr. Powell speaks to Chad Gulledge and Sherri Ryland about getting top lockers. OPP.
