Office Is Center of Activity Through the efforts of Mrs. Joann Goodwin. Mrs. Dorthea Layton. Mrs. Carolyn Morris. Mrs. Mildred Young, and student volunteers. Cap- tain Shreve had a very smooth and efficient year. Student volunteers took care of check-ins. check-outs, phone calls, and things of that nature. This left the secretaries free to commu- nicate with parents, keep books, register new students, sign admits and check-outs, and keep the records up-to-date. The Library — A Place for All The library at Captain Shrove maintained an atmosphere of quietness and relaxation throughout the year. Mrs. Valore and Miss Ramsey worked to keep the library neat and orderly. They were aided by Mrs. Davis who also took care of all the clerical duties. A group of students called library workers assisted the librarians in many ways also. Along with the complete assortment of books for learning and entertainment, the library was stocked with up-to-date magazines, vertical files. Reader's Guide, and encyclopedias. The library also had conference rooms which provided a quiet place for students to work together.
