Assistant Principals Show School Spirit The assistant principals this year were Mr. Donald Horton and Miss Sandra McCalla, whose combined efforts helped to achieve school unity. Miss McCalla’s primary concern was in the instructional area. She assisted in preparing the class schedule, observed classes, and per¬ formed many other valuable services. Mr. Horton’s duties were to coordinate stu¬ dent activities and deal with disciplinary prob¬ lems. He also supervised athletic events along with other needed services. Both assistant prin¬ cipals had school spirit and worked hard for the Gators.

Counselors Aid in Students’ Future The counselors were busy with student orientation, but they also aided students in per¬ sonal ways. They were always available to aid or counsel students any time in any way possi¬ ble. If a student had a problem, the counselors could often be seen conferring with that stu¬ dent. However, besides aiding students with prob¬ lems, the counselors also helped prepare stu¬ dents for their future, whether it was college or a job. They obtained many representatives from different colleges to confer with the stu¬ dents. During the past year, the counselors administered various achievement and scholas¬ tic aptitude tests.
