Counselors Offer Assistance In the past, through the concern and advice of the coun¬ selors, students at Captain Shrcve were provided with aid and guidance in many areas. The counselors not only helped students to make important decisions concerning the choosing of high school schedules, colleges, and careers, but also made themselves available for guidance in personal problems as well. The 1976-77 school year was no exception. The counse¬ lors, Miss Inez Franz, Mrs. Ruby Powell, and Mrs. Mable Walker, answered countless questions and took an active interest in the students’ problems. In doing so they made life at Shreve much easier for many students. MISS INEZ FRANZ . . . Fresh¬ man and Sophomore Counselor . . . B.S., West Texas Univ.; M.Ed., University of Houston. MRS. Hard-Working Staff Coordinates Office In a school with over 1800 students, such things as checking in and checking out, getting messages to stu¬ dents, checking on absentees, receiving phone calls, keep¬ ing financial records, and handling the paperwork could be a very frustrating job. However, thanks to a very well-qual¬ ified and hard-working office staff, these duties, as well as many others, were performed competently and in an orderly fashion. The joint efforts of the secretaries, Mrs. Joann Good¬ win and Mrs. Dorotha Layton, the bookkeeper, Mrs. Caro¬ lyn Morris, the registrar, Mrs. Mildred Young, and the stu¬ dent office workers kept the office running smoothly and efficiently.
