Assistant Principals Play Active Role The administration and student body benefited greatly from the services performed by its assistant principals. Mrs. Helen Dear returned to Shreve to begin her fifth year as assistant principal. Joining the staff this year was Mr. Ecotry Fuller. During the second semester, Mr. Donald Horton assumed the responsibilities of assistant principal after Mr. Fuller’s transfer to Youree Drive. Mr. Horton’s and Mr. Fuller’s main job was to coordi¬ nate student activities and deal with disciplinary problems. Students and faculty were grateful for their concern and interest toward their responsibilities. Mrs. Dear’s primary concern was in the instructional area. She assisted in preparing the class schedule, advised teachers, enforced the dress code, and performed many other valuable services. Each of the three assistant princi¬ pals played an important role in making this school year a success. TOP: Mr. Fuller helps Kelly Waite raise Gator spirit. Counselors Offer Assistance In the past, through the concern and advice of the coun¬ selors, students at Captain Shrcve were provided with aid and guidance in many areas. The counselors not only helped students to make important decisions concerning the choosing of high school schedules, colleges, and careers, but also made themselves available for guidance in personal problems as well. The 1976-77 school year was no exception. The counse¬ lors, Miss Inez Franz, Mrs. Ruby Powell, and Mrs. Mable Walker, answered countless questions and took an active interest in the students’ problems. In doing so they made life at Shreve much easier for many students. MISS INEZ FRANZ . . . Fresh¬ man and Sophomore Counselor . . . B.S., West Texas Univ.; M.Ed., University of Houston. MRS. RUBY POWELL . . . Senior Counselor . . . B.S., Grambling; M.Ed., Prairie View. MRS. MABLE WALKER . . .Jun¬ ior Counselor . . . B.S., M.A., Northwestern State Univ.
