3? , 'xon wns n Tina f Tina Bennett was crowned CHS Queen at the Coronation November 17. Miss Bennett's escort was Kenneth Wright. Runners-up were Karen Mad- ison escorted by Bruce Nipp and Toni Chesser escorted by Randy Hughes. Principal Richard Mixon, crowned Miss Bennett. Daniel Mata, student council vice-pres- ident, presented her with the royal sceptor, and Mark Brown, senior class president, pre- sented her with a gift from the senior class. Presenting the Queen and her ladies in-waiting with roses were Dwain Walker, Darrell Hightower and Larry Mayes, members of the National Honor Society. Charles Mixon served as mas- ter of ceremonies. Crownbear- ers were Julie Restine and Brandon Marsh. Senior members of the court were Vana Woodard and Sher- man Stewart, Virginia Magal- lanes and Kelly Dixon, Pam Lit- tle and Rick Shelton, and Crys- tal Sutton and Arnfinn Blakstad. Representatives from the jun- ior class were Esther Fuentes and Jerry Flores, Mary Busta- mante and Charles Cruz, Becky Terry and Brent Cowell, and Farley Detton and Robert Whip- key. Sophomores were Roson Pearson and Kerry Fahnert, Connie Samuels and Scott Nall. Freshman representatives were Sherrie Evers and John Daniels, and Dena Green and Eric Valdez. Class presidents and their escorts were seniors Mark Brown and Linda Avey, juniors Terry Gaffney and Jerry Dock- ery, sophomores Gina Velarde and Bobby Short, and freshmen Darlene Wayts and Tommy Mur- dock. School Fa vorifes Chosen Mr. and Miss CHS and favorites were presented during homeroom Friday, Jan. 13. Dewayne Cox and Toni Chesser were named Mr. and Miss CHS. Runners-up were Debbie Thomp- son, Becky Gerken, Daniel Mata and Mark Brown. Senior favorites were Lisa Logs- don and Tim Torres. Other senior candidates were Cheryl Frederick, Debbie Maddux, Bruce Nipp and Randy Hughes. Elected from the junior class were Charles Mixon and Debbie Ballew. Runners-up were Molly Darden, Amber Murdock Ryder, Jim Kiper and Gary Hedrick. Sophomores chosen were Max- ine Griego and Winfred Hodge. Other nominees were Sheila Lamb, Charlotte Barnett, Bobby Short and Sid Felton. Tommy Murdock and Sonia Lara were selected from the fresh- man class.
