COMMAND MASTER CHIEF STCM R. M. GOOCH Master Chief Gooch was born in Duluth, Minnesota in 1943. He joined the Navy in 1961. He served in USS HENDERSON DD- 785 upon his completion of Sonarman A School, and USS TOPEKA CLG-8. After a tour of instructor duty at Fleet ASW School San Diego, he joined the USS JOSEPH P. KENNEDY JR. DD-850 where he served asleadingchief sonar technician and chief master- at-arms. Upon decommissioning of the Kennedy, Master Chief Gooch was transferred to USS CLAUDE V. RICKETTS DDG-5 in Norfolk. At the end of that tour of sea duty, he taught instructor school at Fleet Training School, Norfolk. He was then transferred to USS MACDONOUGH DDG-39, in Charleston, where he was Command Senior Chief, 3M Coordinator, and leading Chief of ASW Division. After graduation from the human resource management school, he was assigned to CINCUSNAVEUR staff as administrative assistant to the staff substance abuse coordinator in London, England. He served as Human Goals Officer for NETC Newport until transfer to CAPODANNO in 1984. Master Chief Gooch is married to Bobbie Gooch of Concord, CA. and they have three children.

E X O E F C F U I T C I E V R E LCDR COLIN L. MAR TIN A native of South Dakota, LCDR Martin graduated from Kansas University with a BA degree in English and was commis- sioned through the NROTC Program in 1 972. He served at sea as Operations Officer and Diving Officer aboard USS Edenton (ATS-1), Engineering Officer of USS Garcia (FF-1040), and as First Lieutenant on USS Mount Baker (AE-34). He served as Executive Officer, USS Capodanno (FF-1093) for nearly 26 months detaching in June 1986. LCDR Martin ' s shore assign- ments include aide-de-camp to the Commandant, Armed Forces Staff College, and Management Division Officer, Surface Warfare School. He received the Joint Services Commendation, Navy Commendation, and Navy Achievement Medals. He holds a Master of Arts Degree in Human Development-Management from Salve Regina College. LCDR Martin is married to the former Kathryn Jean Ruehlen of Lawrence, Kansas.
