His shipboard assignments have included duty aboard USS DECATUR fDD-936, and USS DAVIS KDD-9315. He has also served on the staff of COMCRUDESLANT and as Chief Staff Officer, Commander Destroyer Squadron Twenty Two. , Captain Anson attended Navy Postgraduate School where he earned a Master's degree and developed a subspecialty in Person- nel Management. Experience in this subspecialty has included duty at Surface Warfare Officers School Command and the Total Force Planning Division, QOP-llj, in Washington D.C. He is a graduate of the Naval War College and has earned degrees at the 6l700Ml6.fL00 WWGQZ goth. Way JK Wallahan gzlwfileel ylalea wavy Lieutenant Commander Callahan is a native of Lido Beach, New York and a 1969 graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Insti- tute. He received his commission through the NROTC program. His initial sea assignment was onboard the USS ELDORADO With subsequent shipboard tours on the USS PORTLAND and the USS MOINESTER. Other assignments include: assistant communi- cations advisor on the Commander, Naval Forces Korea Staff, member of the CNO Naval Telecommunications System Archi- tecture Study Group, Flag Secretary and Aide to Commander, Cruiser Destroyer Group Eight, and as a student at the Naval War College. He reported aboard USS CAPCAQANNO as Executive Officer in September 1982. Lieutenant Commander Ca1lahan's personal and campaign awards include: Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Citation, Vietnam Service Medal. I the University of Rhode Island and Providence College. During 1969 Captain Anson served with the River Patrol Force in Vietnam where he was 'awarded the Bronze Star, Navy Commendation and Achievement medals and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.
