The chairman of the Bicycle Club-was Schuyler Wallace, and the committee- man was Larry Parr. There were over 100 members. The Magazine Subscription Drive- . A large amount of money used for the printing of this years annual was raised by a magazine subscription drive, sponsored by-the Curtis Publishing Company. The drive lasted for a week and was a huge success. - There were prizes given in accordance with the amount each person ' sold. among the prizes given were: pens, pencils, wallets, Knives, and compacts. The grand prize, given the person who sold the most subscrip- tions was an Emerson radio. This was won by Patsy Willbanxs, who sold 93589.25 worth. Running a close second was Joan Brown, with S85.00. In the weeks the drive was open we sold 3623., the school getting approximately 40 Z of all sales. We made the drive into a contest be- tween the boys and girls. The girls were ahead from the beginning to the end. They sold 3207. more than the boys. The boys, as losers, had to admit the superior salesmanship of the girls by carrying books, bowing, standing until all girls were seated, and addressing them as madam, on an appointed day. ' Q' U A Certificate of Achievement was awarded to all persons selling 330. or more of the subscriptions. People receiving those were: Patsy Willbanks, Teddy Kasje, Bobby Morgan, Joan Brown, Bonnie Cox, and Dick Breckon. This years drive raised more money than in any drive in previous years, allowing us to put out a larger annual at a smaller price.
