Training for occupations stressed bg various courses in campus vocational site Preparation for future occupations was the goal of the numerous vocational courses. Housed in the Hill vocational building on the southeast corner of the campus were Cosmetology, welding, cabinet making, upholstery, carpentry, body and fender, and auto mechanics. Other courses were metal work, drafting and de- signing, woodwork, and machine shop. Distributive education and Industrial Cooperative Training were work-study programs which enabled students to earn money while they gained practical experience.

Required ggm classes stress building phgsical skill in calisthenics. competition Building and maintaining physical prowess was the obiective for the required gymnasium classes as well as competitive athletics. Girls in gym classes participated in bowling, tumbling, soccer, dancing fboth modern and squarel, basketball, softball, and volleyball, as well as calisthenics. Gym classes for boys stressed calisthenics also, but the concentration is on the team prac- tice in basketball, volleyball, and swimming. Competitive athletics for boys held the after- class spotlight and attracted the spectators.
