The annual faculty picnic served as a casual get-together of old friends for the teachers. Many were found deep in concentration with competitive chess and checker games while other teachers fished and boated. Weekend trips to the lake and summer vaca- tions helped rest bodies and refresh minds.

The maintenance crew was led by Mr. Orville Redden who had been head custodian at John Marshall for several years. Mrs. Jane Potter, formerly television secretary, became Mr. Clifton's secretary, and Sheila Bar- bour, formerly library clerk, became television secretary.
