Courses Allow Students to Excel In Spheres of Individual Interest included with general high school courses are special classes tor talented and skilled students in vocal music, band, art, drama, and journalism classes which meet the special need ot students. Both music departments have continually gained high honors tor their per- tormances in contests and concerts. Art courses extend a tield ot classes in commercial art, interior decoration, and art appreciation. The drama department receives applause and awards along with experience through the number ot plays and presentations given throughout the year. The Journalism department has earned distinguished credit through the pro- duction ot the CHIEFTAIN and the REDSKIN ARROW. Those enrolled in iourna- lism have an opportunity to serve their tellow students as they learn. Courses in 'Practical' Vein Offer Students Training for Daily Living Another group ot classes in the very i'practical vein are the industrial art classes. There is a training program set up at the l-lill tor students seeking such courses. For girls who plan to be homemakers or protessionals in the tield, Clothing I and 2 are ottered. ln addition, Foods I and 2 as well as tamily living are taught. ln these classes the tundamentals ot cooking and sewing are the major principles ot the year. The homemaking department presented an annual style show during the Christmas season. The clothes that were displayed were made by the advanced clothing students. lntricate and extensive training are ottered in metal work, woodwork, and mechanical drawing.
