We Came Bursting With Youth and Enthus1asm A HANGING TIGER was the center of interest 1n the cafeteria just before the state playoff. You came to C.I-I.I-1.5. bursting with youth and enthusiasm . . . ready and determined to make this a better place because you were here. This was the big year . . . the year of all-out school spirit! The football team made a turn-about after losing its first two games, and won eight in a row. This was the team that could do no wrong when they took the Mid-State Crown in the battle with Enid. And, this same team put up a great fight before losing to Nor- man in the state playoff game, 12-6. It was a good year . . .and no matter which moments mean most to you, you came to C.I-I.I-I.S., and youire glad you camel TI-IE PRIDE of Capitol I-Iill displays the marching forma tion that has won them state-wide fame. BONFIRES WERE very big on the I-lill this fall with one being sponsored before almost every game

Former President Eisenhower gave this warning in 1956: Competition for menls Iitizenship minds begins when they are students . . . they must be taught to discriminate be- tween the American form of government and the Soviet form. When they have all the facts, I am confident they will make the correct choice, as they have done for the past 181 yearsf' Because of the Communist threat, our youth must be deeply grounded in the backgrounds, traditions, and theories of our democracy. This year there has been a renewed vigor among Hill students in honoring the flag. We inaugurated flag- raising and lowering ceremonies and daily pledges of allegiance in homerooms. We, the citizens of tomorrow, daily pledge our Pride in our country, our love of her Flag, and our prayer for world peace.
