MR. ALEX HIGDON examples for those of tomorrow From a first impression of Mr. Alonzo Roop, ' you find him to be friendly, understanding, and considerate, and that's exactly what CHHS's Vice Principal is. If you're at Capitol Hill for any length of time at all, you have an opportunity to meet and know Mr. Roop, whether it's through making an announcement, being late or absent, or in recognition for something you've clone, good or bad. Some of the duties of a vice prin- :ipal aren't always so pleasant, but this congenial person makes you feel they are. Although it isn't his agree- ment as a teacher to be a good sport, and to take part in school activities, he always makes a practice of doing so, and in case he isn't aware of the fact, he has made many friends of the students at CHHS, just by being himself. Better known as our pal, Mr. Alex Higdon has certainly lived up to this title, as far as the CHHS students are concerned. Mr. Higdon has proved to be an all-round Capitol Hill enthusiast, whether in sports, music, speech, publications or academ- ics, and in any competition he has of- fered his whole-hearted support. As our principal he has impressed us with the ideas of good sportsman- ship standards andthe importance of our school reputation. Mr. l-ligdon has shown his confi- dence in us by the many things we have accomplished together, and now we feel it is our turn to say to him we think you're the greatest. ALONZO ROOP
