I There's always something cooking in the high school students' pot - a party, or a game, or maybe a convention. In the fall CHHS was hostess to the Southern Association of Student Councils and in the spring we had a big music convention. O l. Members of the government class, upper left, decorated a small Christmas tree and had a won- derful party. Mrs. E. T. Moore, homeroom mother, made home-made sweet rolls and beautiful little cakes. Every member of the class put some decora- tion on the bright little tree. C 2. A milling throng of enthusiastic rooters, left, holds a between-halves pep rally during the Shawnee-Capitol Hill basketball game. Shawnee went on to win the State Champion- ship. O 3. Those big smiles mean that the girls won the Fieldball and Volleyball Tourna- ments, front row, Miss Norma Shelton, Shirley Henning, Betty Fowlkes, Norma Gill, Elizabeth Baze, Norma Lancaster, back row, Betty Lev- erich, Oletha Wilbanks, Margaret Doussett, Faye Henning, Miss Martha Cox. 0 4. GITLS O US all O 5. Ronnie Van Horn, Tony Harris, and Denny Boyd, left to right, were three hopeful aspirants for places on the Capers program. They even tried out for the try-outs. O 6. Long waits for try-outs turns, below left, led many an eager-beaver to the coke machine for a little refreshment. Barbara Schomp has hers, Ronnie Van Horn soon will, others, waiting, are Norman Duncan, Carlene Butler, Paul Herrell, Beverly Fulkerson. O 7. A combination student-faculty com- mittee, middle right, laid all the plans for the Capers. Seated at his desk is Mr. Alex Higdon, principal and chairman of chair- men, standing, Miss Sara Cohen, Charles Kelly, Georganna Edmiaston, Larry Wood. 0 8. Climax ofthe evening was the crown- ing of the King and Queen. King Gerald Murray, having been crowned, puts the queen's robe around the shoulders of the l95i Queen of the Capers, Larie Helden- brand.
