Greetings: It is my happy privilege to become associated with Capitol Hill Senior High School as your principal. l have always been interested in your progress here because many of you started in the first grade under my supervision. From the sidelines I have reioiced with you in your many victories, both athletic and scholastic. All of Capitol Hill is proud of our wonderful set-up here for higher education. Your opportunities are unlimited because ofthe fine facilities with which you have to work. Your faculty is second to none in qualifications and student interest. The attitude, behav- iar, and sportsmanship of the student body are on a very high plane. The wholesomeness of purpose which is exemplified here makes my work with you a genuine pleasure. ne ice- rincryoal moves p.. X... Mr. Albert Cole, familiarly known to all as Al, was vice-principal at CHHS from the spring of 1940 until February, 1950. Born and bred in the East Al came to Oklahoma from Springheld College in Massa- chusetts as instructor in physical education. During the war he served overseas as a captain in the Pacific area. His return was hailed with ioy by the great number of students who flocked into his classes in psychology-a course no self-respecting senior would miss. kgncf .Znotfzer oves n. . Mr. Alonzo Roop, who succeeds Mr. Cole as vice- principal, came to us from the vice-principalship at Jackson Junior High School. He needed no introduc- tion, therefore, to a large segment of our student body who gave him a rousing welcome. Mr. Roop graduated from high school in his home town of Warrensburg, Missouri, and attended Mis- souri Central State College where he received his B.S. degree. He received his Masters degree in Education at the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Roop first cam to Oklahoma City in 1926. U, X,
