So now the class of l9-45 packs its bags and Plans to move along lneedless to say, much to its regret.l Aiming to please and figuring that the class possesses many things that have roused the envy of less exalted groups lmeaning our lower classmenl we would be generous in our going: Art. l-The class leaves a sense of co-operation with friends and advisors. Being masters of the art of gracious sharing of school work lespecially history themes now that book reports are outl we leave a goodly portion of all our talent to those who follow in our footsteps. We would not be stingy with our sort of genius. Art. 2-We leave, further, a strong sense of friendliness toward other schools - except where heart trouble is involved, lyou know, all's fair in love, including the girlsl. In testimony whereof we hereunto set our signatures and place the seal of the class of l945, eighteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and fortyrfive. MONA XNILLOUGHBY, Testators. VANCE LEE, class Pm? C7 . 1.9 Star-light, star-bright, We of this class wish tonight That all our dreams fade not away, But may come true another day. It's wonderful to be Sweet Girl Graduates and Young Men of the World, isn't it? We are ready to cross .the threshold of a new adventure - the never-ending adventure of life. All the hopes, the ambitions, the crises and climaxes of our lives are before us. The stage is set, ready for us actors and actresses to enter and ad-lib our way to a smashing success. ln this moment, waiting for our cue, we love to anticipate every movement of every member of the cost. Before our eyes, blinded by the sparkle and glitter of what is to be, dance visions of: Bob Callahan, the legendary senator who has put Oklahoma on the map in the nation's capi- tol. He is strictly an individualist, wearing loud sports clothes to each meeting of the national legislature. Henry Cross, the guy who has revolutionized Frank Sinatra. Not only bobby-boxers, but girls of sixty and over, swoon when he appears on the screen in a musical comedy. He never plays anything but black-face parts. ' Known as the happiest two people in the writer's league are Jack Jones and Betty Ann Lee, who stil! makes as cute a couple as ever. The come hither look in Elaine Henderson's eye has been captured by a famous artist, Wayne Bruce Eagle. lt is being used to persuade men to join the Marines and see this in every country. Curtis Peabody, now a philanthropist, is known all over the world for his many whirlwindro- mances. But, being a man who knows when he's well off, he still hasn't escorted one of the Beautiful Babes to the Altar -5 yetl Margaret Cavendar is getting up in the world - one of those lucky ones who gets paid for doing nothing. Betty Raglin and Bill have a little vine-covered cottage just spilling over with cute young things, but it's their Blue Heaven. The former Elwynna Gaunt has become famous because of a best-selling diary written about her courting days with hus- band, E. G. Althajean Yeaman is a popular character actress on Broad- way-she's the siren you always hate lon the stage, of coursel. Bill Waller now tells fairy tales Saturday morning to all the good little girls and boys and some of the other kind, too. Jo Dell Scott, who went to New York to become a Broad- way actress, now is a member of the Powers model clan, Her Profile is becomming nearly as much a legend as John Barry- more's. Don Van Pool was luckyhhe married the Growl Bait dog food heiress and is now, as ever, a bored man of leisure. Each week he invests at least fElO0,000 in the Sports League. That olive green, gold printed book you are seeing is a copy of an anthology of Dot Steele's poems. Mnlmi. Betty I. Williams is a foreign correspondent covering the Arctic region, but don't let that fool you, they're having a civil war up there, and Betty I. is becoming famous for her inside leads. Todd-Seago commercial advertising firm has made millions off the idea that has revolutionized Ilove that wordi radio advertising. Instead of singing commercials, they have the drum beat out the ad copy in Morse code. Solidl V Hollywood goes for Chuck Sale's explosive personality. He's a slap-stick comedian who is still just our boy -the one-man show on all the alumni programs. Mary Jo Glover started to be an artist, but it wasn't long until she found herself on the other side of the fence-as an artist's model. I Barbara Stivers is one of the happiest of the old gang. She finally hooked her preacher, and you'd never recognize her if you didn't see her once a year, her personality's so changed. lf you don't mind our getting a bit personal the very technicolor you are seeing in these visions is the work of Marvin Shaw, who has gone color blind from looking at his own socks and shoe-laces. Technicolor experts took one look at said items, yelled, You're our man and carted him off. He still toots his horn on the side, and the neighbors on that side are stone deaf from it. IWe gotta have a few little tragedies through life, you know.l Donald Todd is now working for the Metropolitan Opera Company. Just last night he con- ducted the score of Carmen with Marcellette Goddard taking the lead role. Vance One-Weakness Lee is extremely unhappy. He'has to sit on the bench most of the time because of his one weakness, which is that he refuses to be classed as a bum - even with the Brooklyn Dodgers! His traditionally loud socks are welleappreciated by his public, which is com- posed chiefly of women. - Oh, those women and Vancel Paul Wilson was the bright boy who learned from the plumber shortage situation. Now he's stuck because none of the post-war bathroom fixtures require plumbing. Harold Wright holds an important position - he's foreman over the following employes of the W.P.A.: Elmer Morris, Wimpy Lindsey, Cecil Stephens, Bill Claborn, Jimmy Blevins, and John Humphrey. They tore down their castles in the air, so now a park bench is their home. That's Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Reaves Ialias Maxine Stansell. Tchl Tchl And he a famous architect. Juanita Chappel floats long on a love-seat built for two, but the vision's so blurred we can't tell which of her men is beside her. Betty June Jones is still at C.H.H.S. Oh, yes, she graduated, but she's back now as a member of the office staff. Some other members of the Young Married Set are lla Mays, whose Charles is still in the navy, Peggy Montgomery, whose husband has not yet sold her to the Indians in Arizona, Flossie Robbins, who sells the cakes here Honey mkes, and Martha Lee Rose, who married a college professor. Pepsodent tooth powder - containing lrium - is making good use of the sparkling smile of Norma June Lynch. Betty Harris is still taking just oodles and gobs of post-grad work at a famous college in the East but belongs to only one sorority although she is the sweetheart of all the fraternities. Ful- fillment of a dream- she still does not know what kind of a career she is studying for. Harley Jay Senft - yep, that's what the sign says. ln taking a look round this modernistic i955 pluming shop, we find Harley himself admiring his newly acquired master plumber's license. Nobody's Orphan is the name of the soap-opera serial authored by Angelean Hedgepath and starred in by Betty Jean Brown. Glen Oliver and his eyes are being wasted - he used them in his detective work. He tried hypnotism, but the lashes were so long, they interfered with the hypnotic influence of the eyes. Bob Birk is a traveling salesman. And does he travel when he discovers he's calling at a house which has been previously visited land, of course, previously gypedl by himself! Shoes designed by Murieldean Glazier are modeled by Betty Slocter - nuff said! Yep, here we are in the middle of our own little mellerdrama and doing very nicely. Everything is in perfect keeping with the ideals by our alma mater, even to our theme song-Redskins on Parade. ,.....4......zz........-.....-...,.,,.,,,,,,,,,..-and A , AA, ,477 Y H 'LEW 0 ' 1' Q7 4' Quin X ziirr i.
