The Ki-Yi Pep Club was organized in the year l928-29 in an effort to foster school spirit. The original membership of the club was sixteen, and from that small spirited group grew the present Ki-Yi Club of more than sixty members. The present transportation difficulties have curtailed the activities of the club away from home, but in past years the C H. H. S. teams on foreign fields knew the pleasure of being spurred to victory by the Ki-Yi's. At home this year, as in the post, attendance at games has been a requirement, and a large group has been present each time, During football season the Ki-Yi's marched with the band in all its public appearances. The club participated in o special stunt at each football game when the different branches of the armed service were saluted. H. H. S., a group met one day in l937 and organized the Knobberettes. Almost fifty girls participated in the original meeting and the club has maintained a membership of half a hundred ever since. Today the cream skirt and maroon sweater outfit of the Knob is almost 'as well-known as the Ki-Yi uniform. Mrs. Christine Fair, who was a charter sponsor of the group, still sponsors the club along with Mrs. Mabel Kincade. Like the Ki-Yi's, the Knobs foster school spirit and attempt to create morale for all athletic events. Transportation difficulties hamper them, too, but the Knobs were out at every home game, The Knobs are ardent backers of all ticket sales and their enthusiastic support has done much to foster sales. Pep activities do not constitute the sole work of the club as social activities are an important part of the program. Social activities of the Knobs, like those of the Ki-Yi's, included a dance for the football team, an official trip to Norman, a dance for the basketball team, and numerous small parties, The Girl Reserve Club is as old as C, H. H. S. Miss Mary Selken organized the Club and was its first sponsor. The club has been operating a book room, in cooperation with the Junior College, for a number of year, Here school supplies are sold and second-hand books disposed of. The Student Council is composed of one representative from each Home Room. The Council is not concerned with student self-government as such, but is rather an advisory body which discusses school problems and attempts to foster any program within the school that is planned for the good of the student body. The Council meets every Tuesday morning before school and the results of the meeting are incorporated into the Home Room bulletin for the follow- ing day. ln addition to its ordinary duties, the Council has a regular program of vocational study. This study was begun last year and includes a considera- tion ot specific problems of guidance and student optitudes. During the school year l9-l2-I943 one at the chief duties taken upon itselt by the Council was the task at sponsoring the Victory Corps program.
